Learners undertaking the training in this unit must demonstrate CPR on an adult resuscitation manikin on the floor.
Please note there is a level of physical ability to meet the evidence requirements for assessment. These standards relate to the level of performance required to provide resuscitation and respond to an emergency situation where there may be a risk.
Due to the potential risk to health and safety where a nominated first aider, or worker with duty of care, does not have the ability to perform resuscitation and/or first aid to the performance standard it is not appropriate to issue a statement of attainment to students who are physically unable to meet the assessment requirements.
HLTAID0011 Provide first aid, previously known as Senior First Aid or Level 2 First Aid covers the skills required to respond to and manage a broad range of medical emergencies. This program incorporates the HLTAID009 Cardiopulmonary resuscitation unit.
Complete the theory in your own time before attending this one (1) day face to face program that incorporates realistic scenarios that will help you manage a real life emergency.
Students are required to complete an assessment prior to the commencement of the First Aid course:
This involves reading the course E- Book Text and filling out an assessment work book. The assessment certificate is to be printed by the student and handed into the office prior to day of training.
Students are required to get a USI (Unique Student Identifier number) this is to be done prior to the day of training:
